MICROBIOLOGY

SpecialtyVETPATH offers high quality, detail-oriented bacteriology and mycology services.  We have collaborated with clinical dermatologists, internists, and other specialists in developing our susceptibility panels, and additional customization is available upon request.   All staphylococci are screened for methicillin resistance, and our MIC panels include additional routine screening for antimicrobial resistance mechanisms.  We adhere to the protocols of the Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) and maintain a strict quality assurance/quality control program.   All results are reviewed by our microbiologist and one of our pathologists prior to release, and we can easily be reached for clinical consultations.  Quarterly antibiograms are provided to all submitting hospitals at no additional charge.
